The very first Oracle APEX Day in Paris brought together experts, developers, and community members for a full day of learning, networking, and hands-on exploration. Organized by Talan and Sqorus, in collaboration with AUFO, this inaugural event marked an exciting milestone for the French Oracle APEX community.

The agenda featured some of the biggest names in Oracle APEX, offering a forward-looking view of the platform’s capabilities and potential:

  • Simon Hunt kicked off the day with an overview of APEX in the industry, positioning it as a leader in the low-code space.
  • Marc Sewtz unveiled the latest AI-driven features, including Natural Language Reporting, AI Function Calling, and enhancements to workflows and maps—giving the audience a taste of how AI is shaping APEX’s future.
  • Monica Godoy introduced participants to Generative Development (GenDev) in APEX, highlighting AI-assisted app building and chatbot integration.
  • Sonja Meyer showed how modern development practices like Git integration, CI/CD, and APEXLang Grammar are transforming APEX workflows and even opening doors for targeted AI model integration.

Alongside these sessions, Talan hosted a customer panel where business leaders shared real-world experiences of using APEX to transform operations—grounding the technology in tangible, impactful stories.

One attendee, Damien Leveugle, Business Unit Manager at ACTEMIUM, summed up the sentiment perfectly:

“My biggest takeaway is that the choice we made one year ago to migrate our software from Forms 6 to APEX is the right choice. APEX is a real, well-supported product by Oracle internally, with truly future-oriented features.”

He added:

“The perspectives around AI tools in the APEX 25 version are stupefying—they open new, easy-to-reach possibilities we’ll soon be able to offer our customers.”

Another participant from Allshare, Pierre-Louis Giros, shared this about his experience:

“The best part was connecting with peers who are facing the same challenges around governance, scalability, and innovation speed — and exchanging practical insights. The in-person energy was really nice! They’re essential to building momentum.”

In his opinion, these events matter for the community on many levels:

“The APEX ecosystem thrives on collaboration and shared learning, and gatherings like this remind us we’re part of something larger — a global network of builders who believe in simplicity and impact.”

When asked what he learned that applies to his current or future projects, Pierre-Louis said:

“At Allshare, APEX plays a key role in our HR and financial planning solutions, and the event gave me several ideas — especially to push further automation and user personalization.”

That sense of optimism and validation echoed throughout the day. Many participants left inspired to explore new capabilities—from AI integration to dedicated MCP servers—and eager to stay connected with the growing #orclapex community.
