LCCC Collaboration is set to Accelerate Net Zero with New HECS System
Talan Group strengthens its presence in the United Kingdom and accelerates international growth with the acquisition of Nine Feet Tall.
London, 22 October 2024 - The Low Carbon Contracts Company (LCCC) has partnered with Talan Group and Critical Software to develop a first of its kind Head End and Certification System (HECS). A system that will provide the critical assurance and verification needed to allow the adoption of renewables at least cost to the consumer.
The innovative system will change how data is collected from LCCC counterparties, supporting the development of future initiatives, including Hydrogen (H2) and Carbon Capture, Usage, and Storage (CCUS), as well as enabling the evolution of data collection for the Contracts for Difference (CfD) and Capacity Market (CM).
Through the use of blockchain technology the system is designed to manage large amounts of granular data. It will ensure data is verified ready for settlement reporting and compliance across the schemes. The HECS is a key tool in the journey towards Net-Zero and ensures security and transparency, making sure transactions can be traced through the energy supply.
The HECS is a key enabler on the UK’s journey towards Net-Zero, supporting the shift to cleaner energy.
“We are thrilled to partner with Talan and Critical Software on implementing these innovative systems that will play a critical role in centralising data, safeguarding consumers, and supporting the UK’s journey to Net Zero.,"
commented George Pitt, CFO at LCCC
"The Talan Group is delighted to play a key role in supporting LCCC to design, deliver and operate this innovative digital solution, enabling and supporting the effective operation of the renewables market, for the benefit of consumers,"
highlighted Miriam Atkin, Talan's Director of Energy
"Digital certification of renewable commodities ensures transparency, traceability, and trust in its production and supply chain, offering verifiable proof of sustainability whilst driving global confidence in clean energy solutions. At Critical Software, we are excited to leverage our expertise in smart meter technologies to support LCCC in this initiative. By applying our proven solutions, we can help ensure the transition to a more sustainable future,"
commented Joao Brito, Critical Software’s Division Director for Smart Energy and Utilities
